Hi, I’m Mazz

A cheerleader and companion for mothers.

Becoming a mother has been my greatest joy but I know first hand that it doesn’t always come easy.

Driven by my own struggle, curiosity and questioning nature, I became a complete sponge the moment I fell pregnant for the first time, soaking up wisdom from experts, researchers and other mothers. I was desperate to better understand the challenges and changes that I was experiencing both physically and emotionally and to make sense of my own shift in identity that continued to evolve with each pregnancy and postpartum.

I have experienced the rollercoaster of fertility struggles, becoming a mother on the opposite side of the world to my family, postpartum after a loss, postpartum during a pandemic, postpartum with another little person at home to care for and everything in between.

While there are most definitely some common themes in motherhood, I don’t expect your journey to be experienced or felt in the same way as my own and that’s where empathy and deep listening plays an important role in my offerings.

Listening just happens to be my superpower and I love nothing more than a meaningful and meandering conversation, over a cup of tea exploring the richness of life.

I truly believe that if mothers can be seen, heard and cared for during postpartum, they can return their focus to the most important and fulfilling job - nurturing the start of your lifelong bond with your baby.

I was born and raised in Perth and I'm now based in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, where I live with my best friend and husband Ben, cheeky son Dylan and imaginative daughter Frankie.

I am passionate about supporting women and their families around Sydney with my postpartum doula services and baby massage classes. My tailored postpartum planning sessions are also available online to mums and their partners Australia-wide.

My ‘Why’ behind it all.

Mothers are responsible for the human race. Yep, they’re kind of a big deal.

Dr Scott Gerson says “Ayurveda regards the women and her ability to produce and care for children as the basis for family life which in turn is the very foundation of society. Therefore, only if the women of a society are safe, protected and content can these qualities manifest in that society.”

This theory suggests that the collective wellbeing of mothers is reflected in the overall wellbeing of our society. So why, particularly in the West, are mothers feeling increasingly isolated, undervalued, physically depleted and experiencing postnatal depression at predicted rates of 1 in 3 by 2023?

A mother’s postpartum sets the tone for her onward journey through motherhood so I believe deep postpartum care should be a given for all mothers as a way of valuing their essential role in shaping the next generation and society as a whole. This is what drives my passion as a Postpartum Doula and Infant Massage Instructor and why I started The Bond Wellbeing.
